Our Philosophy 

At Antelope Trails, we encourage a lifelong love of learning. From the early years on, we aim to get to know each and every one of our students as a whole child. From their passions and interests, to their family and life beyond school, we understand that each child has needs and strengths to support and foster. We personalize learning, combining early literacy and math skills with hands-on experiences, to ensure academic success. 

Kindergarten students play daily in their classrooms. Engaging in free play allows students the opportunity to practice their social and self-management skills - areas we know to be vitally important to student success. Through IB practice, students are encouraged to be caring, inquirers, and principled. 

The Antelope Trails community holds many events throughout the year. We welcome volunteers and value family participation. We are excited to partner alongside you and your family to make your child's elementary experience the best it can be.

Literacy

Superkids

We use the Superkids curriculum for our whole-group literacy instruction. Superkids is a comprehensive English language arts curriculum crafted for grades K–2 using evidence-based literacy practices. This proven-effective program follows a unique systematic and explicit instructional path through engaging, increasingly complex text.

Secret Stories®: Multi-sensory Phonics Instruction Rooted in the Science of Reading

Secret Stories are the “secret” reasons why letters get together and make the many different sounds that they do. They offer logical explanations for letter sound behavior that learners’ brains crave! Rooted in the science of reading and cognitive neuroscience research, Secret Stories targets backdoor learning channels to accelerate phonics skill mastery for reading and writing. Secret Stories works seamlessly with any reading curriculum or phonics program to fast-track the critical “code-based” phonics skills needed to read and write—while fitting perfectly into existing instruction.

Math

We utilize the Reveal Math curriculum to instruct math. By encouraging curiosity, exploration, and a growth mindset, Reveal Math allows students to see math as a dynamic set of problem-solving strategies instead of the application of memorized algorithmic or computational procedures. At each grade level, math instruction is taught with the approach of both whole group and small group instruction. Math practice is supplemented with the online component of Redbird and fact fluency practice using Rocket Math.                       

Science and Social Studies

We are International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme School (IB PYP). Our science and social studies are taught in a transdisciplinary way through the programmes of inquiry. See the IB sections of our website for more information.
