Excitement and engagement are at an all time high this time of year at Antelope Trails Elementary, but especially during our annual Not-A-Box Day. This event, held every Spring by our third grade teams, involves students using a box or two to create a game for the school to play. Students draw and plan their build, utilizing the Engineering Design Process. Then, with the help of their families, students build their projects at home. Students bring these projects to school for Not-A-Box Day and classes take turns coming through and playing all of these games. During this activity, students refine their communication skills with explaining rules for their game. They also hone their thinking skills as they think critically to build and adjust if needed.
